Sweet Design Sunday: More Than Four Walls. A Love Note to What Makes a Home.

Hey y’all,

It’s Andrea, and this week, I felt pulled to pause the mood boards and material selections and talk about something deeper. Something tender. Something real.

Let’s talk about home—not the Pinterest-perfect version, but the soul of it. The part that lingers long after the candles are blown out and the last guest has gone home.

If I’ve learned anything on this design journey—both as a creative and as a woman who has walked through different seasons of life—it’s this: home isn’t about square footage, matching pillows, or perfectly styled shelves. It’s about feeling. It’s about energy. It’s about belonging.

I’ve experienced moments when “home” was uncertain, when it felt like something to be rebuilt, not just redesigned. And in those moments, I realized something profound: the essence of home isn’t found in what you buy—it’s found in what you build.

It’s built in laughter over late-night takeout. In morning light spilling across a quiet room. In the scent of a loved one’s favorite candle. In the way you exhale when you walk through your own front door. That’s what makes it beautiful.

So, if you’re someone who’s just starting over, living in transition, or navigating housing insecurity, I want you to know this: you are not forgotten, and your story matters. Your desire for a space that reflects peace, safety, and love is valid. And you deserve it.

To me, design has never just been about creating beautiful spaces—it’s about creating refuge. Designing rooms where people can heal, dream, gather, and grow. A sanctuary. A soft place to land.

Yes, I love a gorgeous light fixture or an unexpected fabric pairing, but more than that? I love creating spaces that feel like you. Spaces that welcome joy, allow for quiet, and tell your story, one lovingly placed piece at a time.

So whether you're in a house full of furniture or a space with just the bare essentials—I hope you know this: home is not what you have. It's how you feel when you're there.

This one is for all of us building, rebuilding, dreaming, and holding space—for the life we have and the life we’re creating.

With so much love,

Andrea
